History of the Brand

Ausano Ramazzotti opened his Milan business in 1815 and built one of Italy's first great commercial amaro brands, poured for generations beside the opera house.

Rosato arrived in 2018, two centuries later, as the house's answer to the global spritz boom — a pink, floral, lower-bitterness aperitivo designed for the same glass as Aperol but with more citrus bite.

It sits alongside the original Amaro Ramazzotti rather than replacing it, and is aimed squarely at the aperitivo hour rather than the after-dinner pour.

The style has since become a category of its own, with rosato and pink aperitivi appearing across the Italian shelf.
