History of the Brand
Bordiga has worked with alpine botanicals since 1888, when the Maritime Alps supplied the herbs for its first liqueurs.
Alpine amari of this type grew out of mountain households and monasteries, where wormwood and génépy were steeped as remedies long before they became commercial bottlings.
The Alpino expression is the house's herbal counterpoint to its rhubarb and vermouth lines, aimed at drinkers who want green bitterness rather than caramel.
It is produced in small batches and has become a favourite of bartenders looking for an authentically alpine profile.
Tasting Characteristics
Crushed alpine herbs, mint, dried chamomile.
Wormwood and génépy up front, gentian bitterness, cooling mint and citrus peel.
Long, dry and mentholated.
